FAQ for Employees of Cornell
Can I still get medical care if I'm quarantined or can't go to my doctor?
Yes, if necessary, your plan covers both virtual and non-virtual medical visits. You also get no-cost supplemental coverage for COVID19 testing and/or certain treatments (when seeing a participating provider).
How will my medical bills be handled if I become ill?
If you have medical bills relating to COVID-19 charges, you should file them under your regular health insurance. COVID-19 testing and treatment from in-network providers will be covered at no charge to members. All other medical expenses (not linked to COVID-19) will be paid, subject to medical necessity, in-network vs. out-of-network.
How can I find out what benefits I have, what they cover, and how much they cost?
To locate this data, go to: Begin by going to your Home page and clicking the Benefits worklet icon, then choosing Benefit Elections from the View menu. This page contains information about your benefits enrollment, coverage, and associated fees. This view will also show you this information, as well as any Retirement Savings Elections you have made.
Is it possible for my manager to see my Workday benefits information?
No, your benefits can only be viewed by you and the Benefits Office workers that have benefits responsibilities in Workday. The deductions will be visible to the payroll staff.
Is it possible for me to adjust my benefits at any time (subject to eligibility and plan limitations)?
You have complete control over your retirement contributions and life insurance beneficiaries. Except for annual Open Enrollment, other benefit modifications require a qualifying event such as adoption, childbirth, marriage, or divorce. All benefit adjustments will be routed through a Benefi Benefits Partner.
What are the options for seeing and editing my Dependents?
Click the Benefits worklet icon on the Home page, then Change Dependents, then Add or Edit as appropriate. After you've entered all of the required information, click Submit.
How will I know if my request for a change in benefits has been approved?
When the approval is complete, you will receive a notification in your Workday Inbox. The Benefits Partner may return the request back to you with a query or comment if you did not submit documentation or provide enough information about the modification.
What will happen to my Performance Review?
One of the benefits of utilising Workday is that you, your supervisor, and HR can readily access your completed performance reviews. View My Reviews by clicking on the Performance worklet symbol on the homepage.
